Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Liftwell app ("Liftwell", "we", "us") collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Liftwell is made by an independent developer. Questions go to khyzra123@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address from Sign in with Apple, Google or email sign in, and a user ID we create for you.
- Profile and goal answers: what you tell us during setup, such as your goal, sex, age or birth date, height, weight, activity level, schedule and equipment. We use these to build your plan and your calorie and macro targets.
- Training data: workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, notes, cardio sessions, plans and templates.
- Food and body data: meals and foods you log, calories and macros, weigh ins and your targets.
- Messages to Ferro: what you type or say to the AI coach, and the meal descriptions you enter.
- Apple Health data, only if you allow it: we read steps, body weight and workouts, and we write your Liftwell workouts, active energy and distance. Health data is never used for advertising and is never sold.
- Purchases: your subscription status and purchase history. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Usage and device data: which screens and features you use, app version, device type and a device identifier, used to understand and improve the app.
- Friends features: if you use them, your display name, friend code and consistency stats are visible to friends and on the leaderboard.
What we do not collect
- Barcode scans use your camera on your device. We do not keep images.
- Voice input is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition. We receive only the text.
- We do not show ads and we do not sell your data.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that run the app, and only what each one needs:
- Anthropic (Claude): processes your messages to Ferro, your meal descriptions, and the training, food, weight and step data Ferro needs to answer you, generate plans and write weekly reports. Requests are sent through our own server.
- Google Firebase: sign in, cloud storage of your account and data so it syncs across devices, server functions, app integrity checks and analytics.
- RevenueCat: manages subscriptions and checks whether your subscription is active, using your user ID.
- PostHog: product analytics, linked to your user ID, never your email.
- Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central: receive the barcode or food name you search for, so we can return nutrition information. They do not receive who you are.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, payments, Apple Health and speech recognition, under Apple's own privacy policy.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, your account and the data stored in our cloud are deleted. Copies held by the services above are removed according to their own retention schedules.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in Settings inside the app.
- Turn off Apple Health access in the Health app under Sharing, Apps.
- Turn off notifications in Settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing khyzra123@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example the UK, the EU or California) you may have further rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase. Our AI and food servers only answer signed in users. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
Liftwell is not meant for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Health information
Liftwell and Ferro give general fitness and nutrition guidance, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new training or diet programme, especially if you have a medical condition.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
